From Old in Gold

For those of you that remember these old vintage type plates ~ they bring back alot of memories to me.  My mom use to have some in our home, back in the days, heck, I probably had some too, when I first got married ~ they were elegant looking to me (at THAT time).  I found a couple of these the other day when I was walking through G/W ~ you can usually find some good deals.  When I saw these, I thought, well, I don't care for them in gold but maybe I can paint them or something.  So, I took a pic of one of them, BEFORE and here it is

I knew I was going to paint it white but didn't quite know what else to do with it afterwards;

Then I remembered I had some silver RUB N BUFF that I have been wanting to use but hadn't had the opportunity.  So, I started rubbing that silver stuff (SILVER LEAF is the color) all over it.  Its not very noticable in the pic but it looks prettier in person.  Here it is now:

I am working on my bedroom, because as I've mentioned before, my bedroom needs a major makeover.  I've neglected my bedroom for years and its time for a change.  I've finally found a king size headboard that I ♥ ~ its been painted white and distressed, also have other pieces that I'm working on especially for my bedroom.  Haven't made up my mind completely about the entire color theme but I think its going to be shabby chic white, with silver accents and some gold.....will be posting pics soon as my room makeover.

By the way, this RUB N' BUFF FINISH comes in various colors.  I found at Michaels for about $4.00, in case you're interested.

Thanks for stopping by and May God Bless You♥
